Morgan Llywelyn

Morgan Llywelyn is the New York Times best-selling author of Lion of Ireland, Bard and Red Branch, as well as eight other best-selling historical novels, including Druids, The Horse Goddess, The Last Prince of Ireland, Pride of Lions and Finn Mac Cool, as well as the fantasy series The Arcana (two volumes, Silverhand and Silverlight, both with Michael Scott), and a stand-alone fantasy novel, The Elementals. She has recently completed 1916, a fictionalised retelling of the Easter Rising, which should see publication by the end of the year.

Morgan has also written some highly-acclaimed Young Adult novels, including The Vikings, Cold Places and most recently 19 Railway Street (with Michael Scott), which has been chosen as one of the top fifty children's books of 1996 by The Federation of Children's Book Groups of Great Britain.

In addition to countless other awards and honours, she has won the Poetry in Prose Award for Bard (awarded by the University of Santiago in Spain), and was awarded a place on the Review Celtique recommended reading list for Druids (of which Anne McCaffrey wrote "A total captivation of the reader into a landscape that is vivid, vital and victorious... magnificent, laudable").
